The No Catch Co. Story.

In September 2018, a small group of close friends from the animal rights organisation Surge, including vegan educator Earthling Ed, opened a non-profit vegan restaurant in London called Unity Diner. Kevyn became the manager, focusing on making UD the best place it could be for over two years, leading to the opening of Surge Sanctuary, an 18 acre forever home for rescued animals in the UK.

Since opening Unity Diner, the signature dish has always been the tofish, whether it’s the tofish and chips or the tofish burger, it’s a consistent best-seller.

Seeing how popular the tofish was - Ed, alongside the Unity Diner and Surge team, then created The Off the Hook Truck, giving out free portions of tofish across the coast in the UK.

To say it was a hit with non-vegans would be an understatement, everyone was blown away.

Kevyn and Ed sat down and decided they simply had to do something more with the tofish. A staggering 380 million portions of fish and chips are eaten in the UK each and every year. That’s a huge amount of animals being killed and an unimaginable amount of damage to our planet, just for fish and chips.

Kevyn and Ed quickly realised what it was that they needed to do, they needed to open as many vegan fish and chip shops as they could.

In 2021, The No Catch Co. was born in Brighton!

“Our mission is to take on the fish and chip shop industry. Because it’s time to stop emptying the oceans - and it’s time to stop killing fish.”
